540 affordable housing units added in Liberty City

Liberty Square redevelopment breaks ground on phases five and six, adding 540 affordable housing units in Liberty City.

Related Urban Development Group, one of Miami’s leading affordable housing developers founded by Jorge M. Perez and Stephen M. Ross, in partnership with Miami-Dade County broke ground on February 27 on phases 5 and 6 of the redevelopment. Officials describe it as one of the nation’s largest affordable housing transformations.

The new phases, Oasis, is part of a nine-phase master plan that will ultimately bring 1,900 homes on the 57-acre community. It will also include +/- 6,000 square feet of commercial space.

Phases 5 and 6 will include 408-family oriented (one-two-three bedroom) units and 132 units for seniors. All units will serve residents earning at or below 80% of the area median income.
